It's Super Bowl Sunday!

We're getting ready to go to a Super Bowl party tonight. If you live in the Pittsburgh area like me, you know this is like a national holiday. The stores close early or didn't even open at all. The malls closed early. Even my favorite flea market posted a note on the door that they're closing early. I never seen so much black and gold in my life this week. Even schools have a two hour delay tomorrow due to the Super Bowl game. Do you think Pittsburgh love there Steelers?

Hot Cinnamon Tea Roasted Pecans
Well, my diet is off today. With all the party food tonight, there's no way I can resist. I roasted pecans with a spicy sweet mix made of tea and made some magic cookie bars. Can't wait to see what other goodies are going to be there. I already got on the treadmill this morning. Tomorrow I'll do the same. Then off to the fitness center to spin. I think I already gained three pounds just testing out the goodies I made for tonight. "Here we go Steelers! Here we go!" So, no matter where you live you're going to hear the screams, yelling and shouting from the Pittsburgh fans to your neck of the woods. That's how loud it's going to get.

Magic Cookie Bars

  1. Send some my way, your snacks look yummy!

  2. Toma, I wish there was smellavision. The pecan snack is easy. Preheat oven 350, take 3/4 lb pecans, toss into egg white that is frothy from whipping, 1 tsp oil spread on baking sheet, mix 2 TBP of crush cinnamon type of tea, 1/4 sugar, 1 tsp salt, pinch white pepper. Mix everything all well. Place on baking sheet evenly. Bake for 15 minutes. Then cool and store.

  3. Still love the Steelers no matter what! I came into Pittsburgh to go to the bars on the North Shore for the big game. It was great! I even had a vintage Terrible Towel, of course :)

  4. Hi Courtney,
Sounds like you had a fun time. We did too! I even have a vintage Steelers sweater from the 60's or 70's. Wishing you the best in the Big Apple!
